Transformational coaching is the process of partnering with a Professional  Coach to support them through a significant change that helps them grow, develop, and ultimately “rewrite their reality.”

Transformational coaching is very different from transitional, goal-oriented, or situational coaching where the coach works with you to address a specific challenge with a focused outcome.

Transformational Coaching has therefore evolved to utilize many different methodologies in a person-centered approach.

At Meta-Cognition, we subscribe to a blended coaching methodology, where we draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Gestalt Psychotherapy principles and synchronize this with ICF modeled  coaching. This kind of coaching can only happen on a bedrock of support, trust, and non-judgmental encouragement. Changing someone’s thinking can only happen in a very safe and secure environment.

The outcome we seek for our clients is the growth of new neural pathways that replace self-limiting habits with productive ones.  Self-awareness is both the catalyst of the journey and the foundation to which the client returns again and again for motivation and direction.Your stories are your personal narrative or context. They are how you think, and how you interpret and create meaning around your experiences. Our “stories” are usually things we pick up over the course of our lives and begin to accept as “fact.” They are greatly influenced by our environment and those around us.

We constantly think and live within our stories. We often move forward with life based on these set narratives that we tell ourselves. If our stories are no longer serving us, we can swap the script for a more empowering one. That’s where transformational coaching comes in!
